Manvi venture 500 kg/h Continuous Belt Dryer — Technical Spec
Use case: Drying short-cut pasta from ~28–32% moisture (at exit of pre-dryer) down to 11.5–12.5% final.
Rated output: 500 kg/h finished product (at 12% moisture)
Drying concept (multi-tier belt): • Zones: Pre-dry / Main Dry 1 / Main Dry 2 / Stabilization / Cooling • Residence time: 2.5–4.0 hours total (tunable by belt speed + zone setpoints) • Belts: 4–6 tiers, food-grade SS 304 wire mesh (or PTFE mesh on request); side chains with automatic tensioning & tracking • Airflow: Cross/impingement with recirculation; independent supply & exhaust per zone • Humidity control: Modulating fresh-air dampers + exhaust fans; optional inline dew-point sensors • Cooling section: Ambient or chilled air option to bring pasta to <35 °C before packaging
Typical mass/energy (for 500 kg/h final @12%): • Dry solids = ~440 kg/h • Water removed = ~125–135 kg/h (from ~30% to 12%) • Heat source options (choose one): • Steam coils: ~160–190 kg/h steam @ 6–8 bar (includes losses) • Thermic fluid: ~220–270 kW thermal • Direct/LPG/diesel burner: ~230–280 kW thermal with food-grade heat exchanger • Electric heaters: ~230–280 kW (site-dependent OPEX) • Electrical connected load (typical): 35–55 kW (fans, drives, conveyors, controls)
Construction & hygiene: • Product-contact: SS 304 (SS 316 optional for high-salinity or CIP chemicals) • Frame & panels: SS 304; sandwich insulated doors (50–80 mm) • Clean-outs: Lift-up doors, tool-less belt lifters, crumb trays, vacuum ports • Lighting & viewports per zone; food-grade gaskets; sloped drip-free design
Controls & safety: • PLC + 7–12″ HMI, recipe management (shape-specific), data logging (temp/RH/speed) • PID loops for each zone (temp/humidity/air velocity), VFDs on all fans & conveyors • Safety: Over-temp trips, belt jam detection, door interlocks, e-stops, fire-retardant internals • Optional online NIR moisture at outlet; trend/alarm history; OPC-UA/Modbus for SCADA
Utilities (typical): • Power: 415 V, 50 Hz, 3-phase, neutral & earth • Steam (if steam type): 6–8 bar saturated; condensate return line • Compressed air: 6 bar, ~100–200 Nl/min (actuators & blow-off) • Exhaust: Ducts to atmosphere; optional heat recovery module • Chilled water (optional cooling booster): 7–10 °C, ~1–2 m³/h
Footprint (indicative, depends on tiers/zone lengths): • L × W × H: ~12–16 m × 3.0–3.8 m × 4.0–5.0 m • Service aisles both sides (≥900 mm), top access for fans/filters
Included standard scope: • Multi-tier dryer body with insulated panels & doors • SS 304 belts, drives, sprockets; auto tension & tracking • Fans, dampers, supply/exhaust plenums; filters (G4, M5 optional) • Heating coils/heat exchanger as per selected heat source • Outlet product cooler + sieving/crumble tray • Electrical panel, PLC/HMI, VFDs, sensors, wiring • Commissioning & operator training; O&M manual + spares list
Popular options: • Heat recovery (exhaust-to-inlet) for 10–18% fuel savings • Hygienic CIP misting (zone-wise), belt washer • Inline NIR moisture and/or dew-point control • ATEX-conscious design for flour-dust risk areas • Chilled-air assisted final cooling; HEPA-filtered make-up air • Stainless platform, stairways, and overhead service gantry
